Armory Policy

Every member has the ability to loan from the armory. Use it! We have been acquiring weapons, shields, drives, and other equipment to help fleet members flesh out builds, and try new builds. If you are not using something regularly, be sure to return it so someone else can borrow it. The armory only helps the fleet if people make use of the equipment, so use it to your best advantage. Your strength is the fleet's strength. Just be conscientious about holding equipment you are not using.

There is only one rule for the armory.

Never go offline with the VR labgear.

Unlike weapons, shields, and drives, labgear must be returned as soon as you are done using it. Going offline with labgear is not acceptable and falls under the labcoat abuse policy.

*******
Labcoat abuse policy:

  1. When a fleet member is offline for roughly 30 min with advanced labcoat items, he or she will be boot/invited and charged the labcoat rental fee starting from the time it was checked it out, ending at the time they rejoin the fleet.

  2. If somebody has taken the lab gear off-line when the fleet is locked (before or during a war), the rental fee is doubled.

  3. Fleet members get one freebie to use per month. It cannot be used if the fleet was locked for a war during the infraction.

  4. 8 Efficient Cyberlink AI's are exempt for up to 18 hrs if they are equipped as per the offline policy Bridge set up. After that, this policy takes effect.

  5. If a fleet member cannot pay the fee, it is enormous, and/or they are regularly abusing the coat, they may lose armory privileges. Privileges will be reinstated when the fee is paid, or after a leader determined forgiveness period. The forgiveness period will also erase the accumulated fees. Keep in mind, the point of the fee is to increase member access to the labcoat, not decrease it. So this option will be used exceedingly sparingly. FDR wants to help fleet members succeed. Denying them lab access and taking all their money is incongruous with that goal. We are just trying to encourage responsible sharing.

  6. Only cash donations will be accepted to pay off the debt. Item trades are too complicated to be bothered with.

Failure to pay fines will result in demotion to citizen. Arguing about fines will result in demotion to citizen. Repeated violation of these two clauses will result in extended demotions. If you have a problem, or a special circumstance as to why you could put the gear back or cannot pay your fine contact Billy Joe Bob.

When someone in the fleet has the labcoat offline, they are making it unavailable to fleet members without the fleet benefiting from its use. That sounds a lot like the result of a rental, without the benefit of cash donations. We start charging the fee from the time of check out, because the event can be seen from the fleet event log for days, ensuring that no one will be getting breaks or favors, and it is easier for leadership to keep track.

There will be no trend tracking. If you offend more, you donate more. As far as I am concerned, so long as you pay for your errors, you have been punished. No need for double jeopardy.

My hope is that this will discourage labcoat infractions, decrease the workload for leaders, and raise some money for the fleet. Labcoat infractions are fairly infrequent, so I don't think it will put a huge burden on fleet members.

Labcoat use, other than research.

It turns out that lots of people like to check out labgear for leveling, and slow research burns. This is perfectly fine so long as you follow these guidelines.

1) C3ET, CPAI

a) Send a message to the fleet if you are going to have C3ET's or CPAI's checked out for and extended length of time, .
b) If you have been inactive for 30 minutes (or more), you will get boot/invited.

2) ECAI

a) You do not need to send a message if you are going to check out the ECAI
b) You can have up to 8 ECAI's offline so long as they are equipped.
c) If you have been inactive for more than 18 hours, you will get boot/invited.
d) The max fine for EACI's is $240,000.

If someone sends you a message because they need the labgear for normal research or a burn, you must return the gear to the armory. Research is always the number one priority of the labcoat.

Priority
  1. Points and AICB burns.
  2. Points or AICB slow burns.
  3. Normal Research.
  4. Slow/time Research.
  5. Leveling.
